Originally started on September 1, 1920, Delta Lumber and Coal began operating in Delta, Pennsylvania. Upon the conclusion of World War II, Robert Galbreath and his partner, John Clark, purchased the business and operated for years until the mid 1950’s. Moving to a new location and rebranded as Delta Lumber and Building Supply, the company was then led by David C. Galbreath, Robert’s brother. In 1979, David H. Galbreath entered the business. In 1981, the business moved to a brand new building in Whiteford, Maryland, and in 1985, established itself as Delta Lumber, Inc. This new location was, at the time, one of the largest passive solar structures in the country, allowing us to be a certified green retailer.
Delta Lumber was one of the first HWI Do it Centers and today remains a Do It Best dealer.
